This amendment to Protecting America's Wilderness Act critically undercuts Congressional authority by allowing DOI or USDA Secretaries to exempt areas that Congress has designated as wilderness. This is antithetical to the Wilderness Act and unnecessarily puts our public lands and parks adjacent to wilderness at risk of mismanagement. A vote against this amendment is the pro-parks vote.
